Plein Air Zine! At Oglebay Gardens, traditional Japanese book binding & graphic drawings.
**Second half of the workshop will be held @ Oglebay Gardens
**Participants must provide their own transportation to Oglebay Park
In this workshop, participants will create a traditional Japanese book-bound zine to use for plein air drawing at Oglebay Gardens. The focus will be on mark-making, composition, and narrative. Participants will leave their own zine filled with on-site drawings of the gardens at Oglebay. Along the way, we will discuss compositional approaches, explore different mark-making techniques, and develop a stronger understanding of value.
**Optional - Particpants can bring their own set of graphite pencils, thread of choice, other desired drawing media, personal Awl, and or Bone Folder.
*** Be prepared to draw outside! Bring hats, water bottles, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, and camping chairs.
