Demo: Travis Winters "Building Surface"

Summary

Do you ever struggle figuring out how to finish your ceramic pieces? In this 2-hour demonstration, we will explore how to create deep, rich ceramic surfaces by layering color and texture. Using a range of materials, including terra sigillata, mason stains, underglazes, and traditional glazes, you’ll learn how to build bright, bold surfaces suitable for everything from low fire temperatures to Cone 6 and beyond. Throughout the session, Travis will share a variety of techniques, materials, and finishing options to help you confidently bring your ceramic work to life.
